MPERS Mourns the Loss of Longtime Trustee Capt. (ret.) Willie Joe Greene (Shreveport)

Willie Joe Greene (shown above on the far left with other trustees earlier this year honoring Chief Suchanek at his last meeting), who served as the Retiree District I trustee, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the age of 82. Willie Joe first took office in October of 1997. He was dedicated to MPERS and was shooting for perfect attendance during his 22 years of monthly board meetings (he missed, but not by much). Willie Joe lived life to the fullest up until his last day and will be sorely missed. Our hearts go out to Ms. Colette and family.
